Thanks Bill, I actually have deleted & re-added this contact a couple of

times. I did not know there were multiple sets of contacts. Perhaps he is listed in one of those with just a first initial & last name which would be his email. I'll try & check that out & delete any but the one in my contacts list created by me manually. Thanks, Sherry Wells

I don't know why you must type the first name and part of the last name. May I suggest that you delete this contact, then enter it again manually in the contacts, reached by CONTROL plus three below the Function keys. The reason you sometimes have contacts which you didn't add is that there are two or three sets of contacts. One of these is Suggested Contacts. These often come because you have received an email from these contacts. My auto complete is working but oddly. For a couple of people I need to type in first initial then start typing last name. This is true even though the contact is displayed as whole first name followed by whole last name. Also, how does it happen that I sometimes get an auto complete of someone I have sent emails to in the past but who is not in my contacts list? Would setting the list / card view as you describe below resolve these things? Thanks, Sherry Wells -----Original Message----- From: win10@win10.groups.io <win10@win10.groups.io> On Behalf Of Bill White Sent: Monday, May 4, 2020 2:52 PM To: win10@win10.groups.io Subject: Re: [win10] AUTOCOMPLETING EMAIL ADDRESSES IN OUTLOOK 2016 Hi, Ricky. To access the AutoComplete setting head to File > Options and select the Mail tab in the left pane. Then scroll down to the Send Messages section and check or uncheck Use Auto-Complete List to suggest names when typing in the To, Cc, and Ccc lines. Usually this set to on by default. What I think is wrong is that the Contacts view is not set to list or card view. To do this: 1. Open Outlook. 2. Press CONTROL plus the number three below the function keys to open contacts. 3. Press ALT plus V, followed by the letters C, then V. Thanks. Ricky Lomey
