Placing Display Option On The Desktop
Vicki W
Hi,
Is there a way to place an icon for changing the
display brightness on the desktop or a shortcut key that will work other than
shading with JAWS?
Thanks.

Re: A Question About Selective Suspend

You could try going to device manager, expanding your USB controllers, then finding anything labeled root hub. Right-click (applications key or shift+f10), and visit properties. Under properties, there should be a power management tab. Going there should yield a checkbox to allow Windows to turn off that device. Uncheck it, and hopefully your issue will be solved. Thanks.

I had researched this on line and I was told the same thing, but I don’t see any USB settings there. The problem I am having is that I have a USB drive that shuts off about every 10 or 15 seconds. Is there any other work around for this? Thank you so much for your help. Lynne Moore

Re: A Question About Selective Suspend

Hello, You can do this by going to control panel, going to power plan settings, and find the advanced settings. there should be settings for USB there, if your computer supports and shows that. That is where that should be.

A Question About Selective Suspend
Lynne Moore
Hello everyone,
I hope everyone is having a good morning. I have a Dell laptop runningWindows 10 Home, 16 GB of RAM, Version 21H1, build 19043.1348 with a 64-bit operating system. I wondered if anyone could give me specific instructions on how to enable/disable Selective Suspend. Thanks for any help. Lynne Moore

Update on my Audio Issue
Vicki W
Well, seems like HP, with this laptop anyway, muted
the headset by default. Of course, with the headset plugged in and muted I
couldn't unmute it without someone to look at the screen while the headset was
plugged in.
Once I got that done, I discovered that it was
muted, unmuted it and all is working great now. What a silly thing for HP to do,
mute a headset by default.
Thanks to those who responded to my
problem

NVDA has the same table navigation keystrokes, so if you happen to be in a table in forms or focus mode, you flip the screen. I just discovered that by accident.

Sure if you are replying to a message the senders address will be stored in the address book, but if you are adding a new contact and do not have a message from them to reply to, you can add them to contacts using the method I described earlier. You don’t have to fill in all fields, I usually just put first name, last name and email address.

Hi Chriss.
Thanks for your message earlier.
Like Win 7, you fill in all the relevant details to save to contacts. This is fine if you have all the required details in your head.
Can not when within a message, from you for example, reply to it and either you and or the group will be added automatically?

Hi Andy.
If using outlook, from within your inbox, press control 3, that’s the 3 on the number row. This will take you to contacts. Next, press control N to create a new contact card. Tab through and fill in all relevant fields. When finished, press alt S to save. Next, press control 1 to return to the inbox.

Also, outlook usually adds contacts as you get messages. Start a new message with control plus n. Start ty[ping the address. My outlook 2016 will autofill when I start typing a new address

Hi All,
Just thought some of you might be interested in this

Windows 11 and 10 offer only two sound scheme options: "Windows Default"

of alternate Windows sound schemes from different genres, including anime,
